I think that club should be disbanded. Play the game! (I would ship you my Wii U copy, but I already gifted that to my nephew)

    Never played it as well.

What I did play tonight though was Overcooked. Perhaps the most fun local multiplayer game I've played in ages.

Watched the first episode of "The Chi".

Immediately looked up critical reception and was shocked to see comments like "avoids racial stereotypes"

In the first episode 2 innocent black teens are killed

    Nobody trusts the police

A young guy funds out he had a good singing voice when he auditions for "The Wiz" in order to talk to a girl he likes

A guy who is constantly f'n in his mom's house gets a baby dropped on him with some DNA results... Of and he is obsessed with sneakers, as was one of the kids who was killed (and presumably they either kid since the 1 see the others sneakers)

I finished the episode and was like "damn, this show should be renamed black stereotypes the TV show"

It even had several overpronounced, as if unnaturally used to draw attention to itself, used of the word Ask pronounced as Axe

I am just shocked that people are praising the show for not adhering to stereotypes, when that is literally all I could see when I watched it,

I mean it was close to parody

The wiring was also praised, but I thought it was ham fisted... Like when a guy was giving a speech at his brother's funeral and commented on how he doesn't like the term half brother because he loved him with his "whole body"...

You could predict the entire show as it unfolded

    Anybody else watch it?

Steve2 and I started watching "The Good Place" last night on Netflix. We were honestly surprised at how good it was. Like laugh out loud funny.
I'm sad we didn't start watching it last year, but I'm enjoying binging it.

Really fun show that surprised me with how things developed and continue to develop.
I dont think Michael Schur has had a bad on yet, aside from I guess the very ends of The Office.

Not defending the series or anything, but these really aren't stereotypes, neither are they exclusively known to be a black person thing (even though the weird obsession with sneakers is more of a modern cultural thing), and this is coming from a black person. I don't live in the US so I can't state anything about how police are perceived there, but at least where I'm at, police officers are known mostly to be on their own personal agendas. No one really takes up the job with any passion to it. All they care about is when the next paycheck roles in, and the many advantages they have over common folks.

I haven't seen it, but I don't think I would've wanted to, judging from the way you've described the series. American series about black people (and the entirety of BET)irks me to no end because they seem to all focus on similar themes. It's one of the many reasons why I couldn't stand Netflix's Luke Cage past episode one.

With that out of the way, I'm happy to report that Dragonball Fighterz may be the best fighting game to ever grace the IP. To such an extent that non-fans of the series would have a great time with the game as well as the characters. I greatly enjoyed the art of this game (the art is so good!), and do hope other fighting games based on popular IPs get as much polish as this, not only in fanservice, but in its merit as a great game.

Here's hoping the DLC practises aren't that of a shark.

Do you guys remember the videogame-themed woodblock prints that popped up on Kickstarter some years ago? They were called Ukiyo-e Heroes. I didn't realize they had kept making them, and they're even greater now.

In Final Fantasy 6, the character Sabin has a bunch of martial arts moves at his disposal, including a funny-looking suplex. Normally he can't use it against bosses or large enemies, but for some reason he could use it against a sentient train that is possessed by ghosts.

Has anyone seen where IGN has taken any link to the forums off there new redesigned homepage?

I don’t know if the redesign is pushed thru yet but I know this is a thing because some users over there are bringing up the hard questions.

Nintendo's reveal kind of blew me away...

not that it is for me, really... but wow, I mean my nephew would lose his f'n mind over this stuff

it also plays into the current "maker" scene, which has had a few attempts to target kids before... but this is kind of next level in that regard.. considering the possibility that the kid already owns a switch, or knowing there are other reasons for them to own one, and that these kits could be made fairly cheaply, just some rubber bands and some cardboard really, Nintendo could put these things out at mass market prices that make lego blush

again.. I don't think any of this is for me.. the robot thing is the most interesting, but even then, just not really for me... that being said, this could be HUGE for kids

I don't think my nephew will ever own a switch, I certainly can't afford to buy him one... but as I said, he would lose his shit over this

    fascinating

the fun for me wont be the stuff itself though, but seeing people take it in weird directions, exploiting the possibilities

I'm with @theMightyME on this - it could be HUGE. Kids are gonna lose their shit over this.

Also, I'm definitely getting one of the packs to make with my daughter.

This is just typical Nintendo genius.

Ummmmmmmmm WTF did I just watch?

So is making things outta cardboard a real thing? Or are they illustrating what can be done in these games?

Because seriously if it’s the cardboard then Nintendo has truly went overboard making there money back from unsold WiiUs. They have already melted the blue / red WiiU game cases down to make the “Neon Joycons”. NOW THERE TRYING TO SELL US THE WIIU CARDBOARD BOXES!?!

    SAY IT AINT SO NINTENDO!!!

saw that joke but in Japanese shortly after, lol.
But yeah, they're selling you cardboard to make your kids into engineers. I think each kit comes with a game that interacts with your creation. How it all works is very interesting.

Not for me, I am without child and cant be seen with these. Will wait for them to start tying them into real games and start selling shit like Sams arm cannons you can make outta cardboard.

Well neither one of my kids really gave a crap.

I got an “THATS cool” but it’s from a 4 year old and it didn’t sound real genuine.
  42. Koenig

    Koenig The Architect

If Nintendo keeps these limited to a game that specifically uses them, and said game comes with the majority of the cardboard pre-cut, I could see it being a fun distraction for some kids. It is definitely a neat idea, but otherwise? Please no.

EDIT: That said, I do suspect the IR camera is going to get some good use powering some of these creations.

Other hardware designers - "We need to figure out ways to make marginally more powerful consoles that make slightly shinier games."

    Nintendo - "Here's a cardboard piano."

I don't see myself ever getting the Labo, unless the kid we adopt wants it, but I have to give it to Nintendo.
Something I didn't see coming, but totally a Nintendo thing, and I think it will sell well.

Started to work on my guitar project
    [IMG]
Sanded off the clear coat, next I have to fill in the neck pickup slot with a block of wood and some wood putty, then fill in the pickup selector by adding thin wood to the back then filling the front with putty... I also need to bore out the bridge pickup slot a bit to fit the new pickup... Then let it dry and sand down the excess

Then it is on to painting...I am thinking of going spray paint... Maybe a few metallic black base coat.... Then I am thinking of going with a rust orange on the front, that has a never of the Black paint which will cover the rest... And then a new clear coat.... That will finish off the body

Then I have to wire it up, I got an EMG 707, with a solderless wiring kit... It is an active pickup so I need to find a place for a battery 9v....

Once that is all in and working... Or while that is working I need to design and create the vinyl inlays for the neck... Also thinking of staining the free board black... I WAS going to paint the back of the neck black, but I decided against it

Then I just need to add the neck, the hardware, and strong it up
