Popular gaming accessory creator HORI already has a few Nintendo Switch products listed, but now it’s upped the ante with the announcement of new microSD cards. While there’s usually nothing special about microSD cards, these cards are. Why is that?
Well, take a look:
As you can see, HORI will be releasing Nintendo Switch branded microSD cards. Before you jump to conclusions—no this is not like the Vita. It seems like HORI is just trying to attract buyers by making them think their ‘branded’ microSD cards are the perfect fit for the Switch. Hopefully you would know that you will be able to use any microSD card you choose, regardless of the manufacturer. There are a lot of good brands out there like Samsung, Sandisk, and yes, even Sony (blasphemy!). These HORI cards will launch alongside the new system on March 3rd.
Amazon currently has listings for two variations: a 16GB model for 4480 yen and a 32GB model for 5980 yen. That converts to $39.15 and 52.24, respectively. That’s pretty pricey! Hopefully any Western versions are priced a little less. Or, better yet, just get another brand as mentioned already.
