Have you had any trouble getting your old Wii U amiibo to work on the Nintendo Switch? One Reddit user discovered their Callie amiibo was not working for some reason when attempting to scan it in for use on Splatoon 2. He wrote that “it was like it didn’t even have an NFC chip in it.” However, the player discovered that amiibo may have to be reset before using them again on the Switch. In this case, the Callie amiibo began working after the user went into the Wii U menu to reset their amiibo.

Mario Kart, Splatoon, and Breath of the Wild all feature amiibo that were also compatible with the Wii U. If your old amiibo isn’t working, try to reset it on the Wii U to get it to register!
