One thing that Nintendo fans and owners get a bad rep on is the theory that Nintendo console owners tend to only buy Nintendo games and avoid 3rd party offerings. The Switch has been bucking that trend heavily though, even with Nintendo offering many heavy hitter titles since the consoles launch, with games like Breath of the Wild and Splatoon 2.
Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap was a remake of the classic Wonder Boy III on the Sega Master System, and was released for the Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One, and of course PS4. What’s interesting is that today, developer Lizardcube announced that the Nintendo Switch version outsold all the other platforms combined.
Considering the install bases of the other platforms vs. the Nintendo Switch, it’s amazing to see Nintendo’s console resonating with retro gamers and new gamers alike who are looking for interesting experiences at home and on the go.
