Back in January, Nintendo held a showcase event where a lot of information about the Switch was revealed prior to launch. Among things like the release date and pricing, no doubt the biggest factor of the event was the announcement of what titles would be coming to the system. Ubisoft’s Steep was among the first batch of Switch games to be revealed. Obviously, a lot of time has passed since then, but Steep still hasn’t come to the system.
With winter fast approaching, it seems like the perfect time of year to release the game. So, that’s the plan right? Well, the exact date still hasn’t been set.
In a recent interview with Nerd Report, Steep’s director Arnaud Ragot briefly talked about the status of the Switch version. All he had to say was that the Switch version of the game is “still planned” and that the team still has it in mind and is focusing on it, but they’re also hard at work on the ‘Road to the Olympics’ expansion which will add new features to the existing game.
Steep launched late last year on PC, PS4, and Xbox One and has been receiving steady updates ever since. Given the vague wording that Mr. Ragot had to say about the Switch version, it seems like the system won’t be getting the game until 2018.
Having been introduced to video games at the age of 3 via a Nintendo 64, A.K has grown up in the culture. A fan of simulators and racers, with a soft spot for Nintendo! But, he has a great respect for the entire video game world and enjoys watching it all expand as a whole.
