Although cross-platform play is becoming more and more common in the modern gaming landscape, Bandai Namco has revealed that their upcoming title, Dark Souls: Remastered, will not allow for playing with users on other systems.

IGN reached out to the company for clarification on the topic, and Bandai Namco confirmed that Dark Souls: Remastered will “not have cross-platform play”.

While this might be disappointing to some, I’m not surprised. Dark Souls isn’t a title that puts an emphasis on online play, so it makes sense why Bandai Namco wouldn’t want to throw resources behind cross-platform play.

Dark Souls: Remastered releases for Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Xbox One on May 25.
