SquareEnix’s upcoming “HD-2D” role-playing game, Octopath Traveler, is hitting the streets on July 13. But you might want to preorder it from GameStop now, because doing so will get you a sticker set and a card featuring a character from the game. The fact that you apparently get only one card out of many might be irksome to collectors, but I kind of love the idea of having pixel art stickers that I can put in places. Square should consider doing that with more of their back catalogue. If I could put pixel Sabin from Final Fantasy VI on my workout equipment, then I really wouldn’t have a good reason not to!

Aside from maybe Mega Man 11, there’s nothing I’m looking forward to as much as Octopath Traveler. Both games are excellent examples of, “What’s old is new again,” and I love having reasons to feel less like an old person.
