Later this year, the classic Rollercoaster Tycoon franchise will make a return to form on Nintendo Switch with Rollercoaster Tycoon Adventures. Atari has revealed a lot of new information about the upcoming game, along with some new screenshots and the game’s boxart.
The boxart looks like a vintage-inspired theme park poster, which certainly fits the whole situation. As for the game details, here’s a quick rundown:
Rollercoaster Tycoon Adventures blends the trademark gameplay mechanics from the classic entries of the franchise along with the modern UI of Rollercoaster Tycoon: Touch which has been adapted to fit the Switch’s hardware. Notably, players will be able to use the Joy-Con and/or the system’s touchscreen to build their parks in an intuitive manner. There are 200 attractions to add to your park, 7 rollercoaster types, 4 park environments and 3 different game modes. Rollercoaster Tycoon Aventures will run at a native 1080p in docked mode and 720p in handheld mode, both of which offer a framerate of 30FPS.
Atari has still not yet mentioned when the game is set to release, giving the tentative timeframe of Q4 2018. So, expect to hit the virtual parks on your Switch by the end of the year.
