A new rhythm game is coming to Nintendo Switch. Drastic Games has announced Soundfall, which puts a musical twist on the action-adventure genre. Its plot is sort of reminiscent of the 1994 movie The Pagemaster, but instead of Macaulay Culkin looking for the exit in a world of literature, you play as Melody who is looking to get home after finding herself in Symphonia.
Symphonia is a world where music does not just live it is alive. As shown in the trailer below, environmental elements like trees and pillars move to the beat of the game. Using her deep passion for music, Melody not only tries to find a way back home but a way to save music’s home from a threat named Discord.
Like QubicGames’ shooting game Robonauts, Soundfall builds its character’s movements around the music that is being played. However, it takes it a step further turning attacks that are in-sync with the music into choreographed dance moves. The game will also have a co-op mode, allowing players to choose from a variety of characters, and each character has their own taste in music and playstyle.
Drastic Games plans on releasing Soundfall in 2019. What do you think of the trailer and the gameplay? Comment below!
