The well-renowned offroading simulator Spintires: MudRunner was revealed to be coming to the Switch a few months ago. The developers at Saber Interactive haven’t spoken much of it since then but did recently hint that it would be coming to the system sometime in the Fall. Now, a new tidbit of info has dropped: the boxart. Coming courtesy of Amazon France, this boxart is for the new American Wilds version of Spintires: MudRunner which is the second expansion pack (and so far the only paid DLC for existing users). Its set to release in the Fall, around the same time as the Switch version.
This listing on Amazon France has not only provided the boxart (thus confirming a physical release of the game on Switch), but it might also be providing us with the first look at the Switch version of MudRunner. The listing includes a handful of screenshots; it’s unclear if they’re representative of the Switch version specifically or are just general promotional shots. One of them is pictured above.
Spintires: MudRunner has some highly-detailed environments and vehicle models, so if Saber can keep that visual fidelity intact as much as possible with the move to Switch, that would be very much appreciated by the new user base. So, if this really is a shot from the Switch edition, then it does look surprisingly good. Nevertheless, save the real judgment for when actual gameplay footage is released.
