The Japanese Nintendo Direct had a piece of unique news not mentioned during other territories’ coverage: Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on the Switch! It’s… cloud-based. Huh.
This version of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will run from a remote PC and be streamed to your Switch via the interwebs. Since streaming is hardly ever stable, due to connection speeds and traffic, Odyssey will likely take a hit in the visuals department and not run smoothly.
Personally, I feel the Switch version of this game is pointless. If you are playing a version of a title that will not run well, what’s the point? I get that playing a high profile game like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on the go is tantalizing. If the Switch can’t handle the performance, though, it’s better to just play the game on another console.
