Super Bomberman R

Konami has announced that Super Bomberman R has received an update with additional characters and new stages. The update brings a slew of new content, notably, from Konami’s own Castlevania series.

Castlevania-themed stage has been added to the game, as well as an Alucard Bomber. Konami also released Bombers based on older franchises. There’s adding Mimi and Nyami of Pop’n Music fame. Also joining is Upa from the Japanese-exclusive game Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa. Then there’s Caesar, from old Konami franchise Star Soldier.

PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC will also see a few additional exclusive characters, respectively. Back in June, Konami announced Switch’s exclusive character would be Bomberman MAX, but has yet to release the update.

With the game being released a year and a half ago as a launch title for the Switch, Konami has not let up support for this title. Konami has continued to release updates for the game, adding accessories and content from its own franchises. These include Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, and Gradius. Surprisingly, WWE and old raunchy women’s wrestling game Rumble Roses have also been involved. Ultimately, Super Bomberman R features more than 40 different characters. More updates are seemingly on the way from Konami too.

Additionally, Konami has unveiled a vinyl release of the game’s soundtrack. Sumthing Else Music Works will release a 2xLP of Super Bomberman R‘s soundtrack this November. Composed by Seima Iwahashi of Elements Garden, the record is available now for preorder. It will feature a vibrant gatefold, similar to the art direction taken with the title.

The set is beautifully crafted and spans just over 25 tracks. View photos of the record set and awesome, vivid gatefold down below.
