Nintendo has released yet another system update for the Switch. This is the third one in less than two months, making it the most active update schedule that the console has seen since release. The new system update boosts the system firmware up to version 6.1.0. It’s targeted primarily at that of Switch Online users, seeing that it fixes an odd glitch where some games would not recognize the membership shortly after it’s been purchased. Other than that, not much has been changed other than “general system stability improvements”, which is the description of most system updates.

Improvements Included in Version 6.1.0 (Distributed 10/29/2018)

General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience, including:

  • Resolved an issue where certain games don’t recognize a Nintendo Switch Online membership for a short time after purchase

In other Switch Online related news, Nintendo’s President recently revealed that over 50% of subscriptions have been for the $20 annual plan.
