There will most certainly be a steady trickle of social media photos for the next few days of the most inventive and thrilling Halloween costumes. Naturally, celebrity Halloween costumes already make the rounds due to their status of fame.
Nintendo fans might be thrilled to know that there was some celebrity representation for the popular gaming company. The upcoming Captain Marvel star, Brie Larson, celebrated the festivities as the beloved Metroid champion, Samus Aran. This grabbed the attention of social media and gaming media outlets because it seems rare that any celebrity shows off their gaming fandom.

But, the Nintendo nods didn’t stop there. In a twist of fortune for Waluigi, Samus Aran turned up the steam in one photo. Larson’s boyfriend Alex Greenwald dressed up as the villainous Nintendo character. Clearly, this couple shares an affinity for Nintendo!
In Larson’s line of work, the idea of her portraying Samus on screen in some capacity isn’t too far-fetched. For starters, she’s clearly a fan. Additionally, she fits the look and appearance of Zero Suit Samus. And lastly, she even hopes that a Metroid movie will one day be a reality. Don’t take my word for it. See her response to a fan lamenting the idea that her Halloween costume is as close as we’ll ever get to a live-action Samus.
I hope not. I want to make that movie. https://t.co/6ZneOLu2Wh

I know, right! Nintendo, if you’re listening, get in touch with Brie Larson, and get something ironed out! Obviously, I know that more parties are involved. But, who knows? With Nintendo’s recent connections at Universal, who’s to say that the chips can’t all fall into place one day in the near future? There’s a bit of wishful thinking for you.
What do you think of the Samus costume? Would you love to see Brie Larson star as the popular Metroid character? Were there any other awesome Nintendo-inspired costumes that you have seen during the Halloween festivities? Or, perhaps, you also represented the house that Mario built? We’d love to hear all of your thoughts in the comments below!
Accountant by day, video games enthusiast by night. Somewhere in between all of that, I’m a husband, dad, and generally a giant man-child, too. If a game is all about action, there’s a safe bet I’m playing it. I started laying waste to virtual worlds as a youngin’ on the ol’ Atari and haven’t stopped since.
