Detective Pikachu photorealistic Pokémon

I am taking this report with many grains of salt, but apparently, a test screening for the upcoming movie Detective Pikachu went really well. SMB reports that the test audience was more than satisfied after seeing the current edit of the film. Featuring a good script and a solid performance, the audience’s reaction apparently boded well for the film’s future.

Ryan Reynolds takes the helm as a CGI Pikachu, apparently playing his part very well. The report said Reynolds and his partner Tim Goodman, played by Justice Smith, do a great job together. Filled to the brim with easter eggs, the report shines a very positive light on the video game movie.

I have had my fair share of video game movie disappointments. As a result, I’m keeping my expectations low for Detective Pikachu as we wait for more details. I would be thrilled to watch a live-action video game movie I love, but I just can’t buy that Detective Pikachu will be the movie to break the streak of terrible movies.
