The Gamecube controller seems to be the one and only controller that refuses to die long after its heyday (minus the Xbox 360 controller that is). Many new models have popped up for the Switch, the majority of which have been developed by several third-party manufacturers. Power A has a special gold-colored option that, as of now, is exclusive to GameStop.
Unlike the genuine original GC controller, this PowerA edition actually sports the full array of Switch buttons. That means it includes a +, -, Home and Capture button, along with ZL/ZR, and L/R. It also happens to be Bluetooth-enabled like the Joy-Con and Pro Controller, though the only downside is that it runs on two AA batteries. Motion controls have also been included, though vibration and NFC are missing.
If you’d like to pick up the gold variation of the PowerA Switch Gamecube Controller, you can do so over at GameStop for $49.99. Other colors are available from retailers like Amazon for the same price.
