Last year, Arc System Works announced that both Guilty Gear and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R would be coming to the Switch. Today, PQube has announced that we can expect them to be arriving in the spring of this year, both individually and as part of a new Guilty Gear 20th Anniversary Edition for Nintendo Switch.
PQube will be handling the publishing duties for these releases. They will be offering a physical bundle for the two games as part of Guilty Gear 20th Anniversary Edition, though additional content for this version beyond the two games has not been revealed yet. The two titles will also be offered digitally individually, if you prefer to go that route. Guilty Gear and its sequel, XX Accent Core Plus R, will be sold separately on the eShop.
The GG series has been dormant as of late. The newest iteration in the series, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, launched in May of 2017. Since then, Arc System Works has been focusing on new titles like BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle and Dragon Ball FighterZ. Both of those games have made their way to the Switch, but Xrd REV 2 hasn’t. Hopefully the release of these classic games is the first step in bringing more of this iconic franchise to the Switch.
