Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn is launching on the 3DS next month. Although the title is a port of 2010 Wii exclusive Kirby’s Epic Yarn, the 3DS version will have several new features detailed by Nintendo in the chart below.
As you can see, the 3DS version has one big disadvantage. Whereas the original Wii game had a wonderful cooperative mode, the 3DS release has no simultaneous multiplayer gameplay. Instead, it is a fully single-player experience. The game does have StreetPass sharing, so there is a small element of multiplayer. Nevertheless, it is disappointing to see that you won’t be able to play through this adventure with a friend.
Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn will also have several new modes and features. In addition to StreePass, the game will have nearly 100 new room decorations. The game will also support amiibo and include a “Devilish Mode.” Kirby will have access to Ravel Abilities and the release will have “Sub-Games.”
For those that do not know, “Devilish Mode” is a mode that makes existing levels more challenging. Each level will have one of three new quirks. For example, in some levels, the extra “Devils” will attack Kirby and make it more challenging to navigate the level.
Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn will launch March 8 for $39.99.
Eli buys virtually every Nintendo title that comes out but has expanded his collection to include amiibo. He hasn’t taken them out of their boxes, though, so he might be a bit insane. When not playing video games, Eli likes writing about politics and games. He also runs a decent amount. Outside.
