If we take a look at our (data-leaching, world-dominating) friend Amazon, we can find that the MSRP for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is listed at $39.99 USD for Nintendo Switch. However, the MSRP for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One releases is $49.99 USD — $10 more. It’s worth noting though that the Xbox One version is currently discounted to $39.99 at the time of this writing. In any case, if you’re looking to buy a physical copy of Bloodstained, it seems Switch will be the reliably cheapest option.
Why the game is cheaper on Switch is up for speculation though. It could simply be a clerical error, though that’s unlikely. It could also be that the game is somehow such a downgrade on Switch that it warrants a matching price cut, but more demanding games than Bloodstained have been released for Switch without a price cut (Doom). It’s a real curiosity.
I know I should just be happy that we’re getting a great deal… but it still makes me a little nervous.
Amazon lists Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night as releasing on Sept. 17, 2019.
