It’s been a few years since the most recent mainline Pokemon titles hit the Nintendo 3DS. Now, a new era begins, with Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield hitting the Switch later this year. During previous Nintendo handheld generations, a third version of a particular set of Pokemon titles would usually launch sometime after the initial release. Though this has not happened with newer Pokemon releases, a local newspaper in Mexico erroneously reported that there would be a third edition of the upcoming Switch games.

I hate to break it to you, fellow Mexican journalists, but Pokemon Gun is not a real thing.
Where in the world did La voz de Michoacán get the idea for Pokemon Gun? Quite simple: dreaded internet memes. A quick search on Twitter will yield some funny results if you’re looking for Pocket Monster jokes. Always remember to check those sources, my friends. However, if the monkey-like Grookey evolves into King Kong while wielding dual pistols, I’ll take back everything I just said.
Gentle readers of this particular website, how do you feel about the newspaper’s reporting? Do you feel it’s more a harmless mistake or hilarious blunder on La voz de Michoacán’s part? Give us your pearls of wisdom in the comment field below!
