Hopefully, everyone has had a chance to play Hyper Light Drifter. It is an excellent game, especially the Special Edition on Switch, which has exclusive content. Fans, like yours truly, were left wondering what developer Heart Machine has in store for its next project. Wonder no more, my friends, as Heart Machine has announced its brand spanking new title, Solar Ash Kingdom.
Pump this directly into my veins
Let’s check out a trailer for the game, together as friends:
Hot damn, that footage looks SCRUMPTIOUS!
Judging from the video, Solar Ash Kingdom is not a pixelated affair like Hyper Light Drifter. Graphics are decidedly more flashy and three dimensional. Music-wise, though, it sounds eerily similar to HLD. One thing is 100 percent clear: that monster’s eye is definitively going to be scarred forever.
At the moment, details on Solar Ash Kingdom are quite scarce. Annapurna Interactive is the game’s publisher, and the only platform so far is PC via the Epic Games Store. However, since Hyper Light Drifter has a super special exclusive edition on Switch, chances are high that Solar Ash Kingdom will make its way to Nintendo’s console.
Lead developer Alx Preston shared just a taste of what to expect from the new project with IGN:
We strive to tell a beautiful story through our world, the atmosphere, our characters and even our gameplay – each aspect of our games are painstakingly considered – which requires a large investment of time. Thanks for bearing with us and our relative silence; we’re so excited to start opening up about the game and the process behind it on our devlog and beyond.”
That tells me literally nothing, Alx, but I’m glad you are making this, regardless.
Enthusiasts the world over, what are your thoughts on Solar Ash Kingdom? Picking it up once the Switch version comes to light? Leave us your answer in the comment section down under.
