Its been a few months since SEGA first revealed that it would be porting the classic Virtua Racing over to the Switch as part of the ever-growing SEGA AGES retro collection. News about this retro re-release has been slow since, but now the company has opened up yet again with some interesting new details.
Virtua Racing on Switch will not just be a simple port. Instead, it will include new features in the form of online and local multiplayer. Local multiplayer will include support for up to eight players in split-screen mode, while online races will be limited to one-on-one competitions.
The Japanese eShop will be graced with Virtua Racing this Spring (though a specific date has still not yet been provided). There’s no word on when the EU and US releases will be coming along, but it likely won’t be too far off.
