The lack of a head strap on the recently-released Labo VR goggles shows that it was clearly designed to be used in short spurts rather than extra long marathon sessions like most would expect from a gaming VR headset. Nevertheless, that hasn’t stopped talented fans from turning into a more ‘proper’ headset by means of making head straps of their own.

One fan did a pretty simple build a little while ago, but now someone else has gone ahead and taken quite the extra step by creating a fully 3D-printed design. This super design made by Redditor ‘MikeDubbz’ encases the entire headset, to the point where it hides the fact that it’s actually made out of cardboard in the first place.

The inside where the unit presses against the face has also now been outfitted with soft cushion mateiral for more comfort.

‘MikeDubbz’ has not only uploaded a gallery showing off their awesome mod, but also a YouTube video which fully shows it in action. Have a look:

If you have enough time, dedication, and engineering skills/material to go ahead and attempt something like this yourself, give it a try! It’s clearly possible. Though, it would also be nice if Nintendo released an official design that’s similar to these mods.
