Darkwood brings unnerving terror to Switch on May 16 | Acid Wizard Studio and Crunching Koalas

Top-down survival horror game Darkwood will be scaring us all to death on Nintendo Switch on May 16. Coming from developer Acid Wizard Studio and publisher Crunching Koalas, the game is set in mid-’80s Poland and promises to be “pretty heavily story-driven,” with no reliance on jump scares.

You play as a character who wakes up in an evil forest and has to escape by scavenging, crafting, fortifying a hideout, and completing quests. Your hideout is your only solace from the terrors surrounding you. However, take note that the game is procedurally generated, which can shift your feelings about it hard in one direction or the other.

Darkwood will also come to PlayStation 4 on May 14 and Xbox One on May 17. Let us know if this spooky game sounds appetizing to you.
