Remember those low-top Adidas Pokemon shoes that are supposed to drop sometime soon? Forget about those, because these PONY shoes are the real deal.

New York-founded (but Hong Kong owned) shoe company PONY has recently teamed up with The Pokemon Company to release a new line of sneakers and apparel. The collab series is only available in Thailand and includes a line of shoes, baseball caps and cross-body bags. Thai hypebeasts and nerds alike currently can purchase a dad cap with a Pokeball or Pikachu embroidery on it, or a cross-body bag featuring a Pokeball or a Pokeball-inspired color way.

The main attraction here, however, are the line of sneakers PONY is releasing with The Pokemon Company. In their infamous Topstar style of shoe, which is meant to rival the casual style of Converse’s Chuck Taylors and Vans’ Old-Skool silhouettes, streetwear enthusiasts can now purchase color ways in the styles of Pikachu, Squirtle, Snorlax, Eevee, or Charmander. The side strip on the outside of each Topstar shoe is colored according to their Pokemon counterpart. Personally, the teal Squirtle PONYs are my go-to, but they’re all simple and clean designs that don’t attract as much attention as Adidas’ upcoming sneaker drop.

The popularity of anime-based franchises in streetwear hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down, as brands and fast fashion retailers continue to craft their own versions of apparel based off franchises like Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon. The Pokemon Company, awesomely and cooly, seems to be jumping on that bandwagon as of late, and we fully welcome it with open arms.

There aren’t any online listings for any of these Pokemon Company x PONY products yet, or any guarantee of worldwide shipping for them, but those interested in viewing a few photos from PONY’s official pop-up store in Thailand, which is located on the third floor of Central World, can visit their Facebook page for a closer look. Hopefully this awesome collab line hits North America later this year.
