Detective Pikachu is now out in theaters, and so far it’s proven a solid take on the beloved franchise. In fact, it’s set a new record for the best opening weekend for a video game movie adaptation. Much of its success is due to the film itself, of course, but a marketing campaign filled with Ryan Reynolds and the cast posting humorous, rarely-serious videos has no doubt helped it along.

In tandem with the release of Detective Pikachu, another such video has been released. The premise? The film’s three main stars taking a personality test to see what Pokémon they are. Ryan Reynolds, Justice Smith, and Kathryn Newton sat down with BuzzFeed Celeb and took a short quiz with questions like “What do you value the most in others?” and “Choose an Eevee evolution.” As expected, Reynolds didn’t take the quiz very seriously and messed with his co-stars at any chance he got.

What kind of Pokémon are you?

Some interesting Pokémon-related facts came up about the cast during the video. Smith really likes Ghost-type Pokémon since he likes ghosting people. Newton would join Team Rocket if she had the chance because she likes their outfits. She also said that Psyduck was a Psychic-type, which is an honest mistake to make. As for Reynolds, he was flabbergasted that Atari was not an option when asked what system he likes to play Pokémon on.

Spoiler alert: Smith and Newton were very excited to get Mewtwo and Jigglypuff. Reynolds, meanwhile, was a little disappointed he got Snorlax. Unsurprisingly, Reynolds’s crass and sarcastic humor didn’t lend well to getting Pikachu. Desperate to get something better, he swapped computers with his cast members and called it a day.

What do you think of the cast’s answers and the Pokémon they ended up getting? Have you seen Detective Pikachu yet? Let us know in the comments!
