Seeing Sony and Microsoft team up just recently is a pretty big deal. Although both companies still plan to compete in the console space, seeing the CEOs shake hands is a powerful image. Even Nintendo and Microsoft have been “chummy chummy” lately.
So in light of this potentially earth-shattering partnership, we have to ask ourselves a very important question. Who would we like to see Nintendo team up with?
Internal discussions with us at Nintendo Enthusiast had us think about Capcom being a good partner. There was a time not long ago when the AAA studio’s future seemed uncertain. That would have potentially been a good time for the Big N to buy out the company and own beloved franchises such as Street Fighter, Mega Man, and Monster Hunter. Apple is another interesting one, although it would be the iPhone creator likely calling the shots in that relationship.
In light of their recent troubles in the gaming space and recent focus on retro releases, I would like to throw my hat in for Konami. We’ve already gotten a taste of what Nintendo can do with Castlevania with the property represented in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. And with Konami clawing their way to get back in gamers’ good graces, it would greatly benefit them to leech some of that from a more favored gaming presence.
Who do you think Nintendo should partner up with? Let us know in the comments.
