Free 12-month Switch Online with Twitch Prime promo now active

Back in March, Nintendo and Amazon (who owns Twitch) announced a special promo for Amazon/Twitch Prime members. By linking your Twitch Prime account with Switch Online, this would give you access to three free months of Switch Online membership. But, that was only the first half of the promo.

Savings, savings, savings!

The second half puts an additional nine months on top of that deal, resulting in 12 months (a year) of free access to Switch Online. This second part of the promo only activates for those who keep their Amazon/Twitch Prime accounts for 60 days after claiming the three free months.

If you were like me and claimed the first part of the promo back in March and still have an Amazon/Twitch Prime account, then you should be ready to go with the extra free nine months.

This promo will remain active for first-time users until September 24, 2019. The nine-month option must be redeemed before January 22, 2020.

Keep in mind that when you use this promo, automatic renewal will be triggered on your Nintendo Account. This can be disabled in the eShop. If you don’t disable it, your debit/credit card will be charged once the free Switch Online membership runs out. You can disable it as soon as the membership is activated, so better to do it sooner rather than later.
