New Pokémon might be hidden in yesterday’s Pokémon Nintendo Direct

Pokémon Sword and Shield release date

Fans have been working hard since yesterday’s Pokémon Direct to glean any potential new information from the presentation. Two pieces of evidence suggest the existence of a new Pokémon similar to a squirrel or chipmunk. You can take a look below to judge the evidence for yourself.

This first image seems to show a squirrel eating chips. Normally, we wouldn’t pay too much attention to an animal on a random shirt. However, the squirrel pictured here is previously undiscovered. We have no clue who it is.

One other screenshot lends credibility to the idea that this could be an entirely new creature.

In this image, an image of a squirrel Pokémon is seen in the audience. Once again, we have no previous records on what this creature could be, so we could only presume this to perhaps be a new critter.

If this is, in fact, a new Pokémon, it could be named either Skwovet and Greedunt. Two chipmunk-like creatures are rumored to be coming to Pokémon Sword and Shield (along with a bunch of other leaked information). This image could represent one of those two Pokémon.

Pokémon Sword and Shield are scheduled to launch this November for the Nintendo Switch. Will you be picking up the new game release?
