Activision has been raising old properties from the dead lately with various remakes. With all of the classic revivals of Crash Bandicoot and Spyro going on, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see the two cross over with one another. Well, as a new rumor suggests, Spyro will actually be a playable character in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled.
On top of this, the rumor also states the Spyro Reignited Trilogy is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch on September 3. We’ve known this to be a possibility for some time, since Nintendo UK once had a webpage dedicated to the game before it was quickly removed. We’ve heard rumors from GameStop Germany that the title could come later this year as well.
It’s also not too farfetched to believe Spyro would appear in a Crash game. It has happened before, after all. With Activision playing off the nostalgia of old fans, a crossover like this may prove impossible to pass up.
Spyro and Crash and rumors, oh my!
This rumor comes to us by way of GoNintendo via one of their sources. As for the credibility of said source, GoNintendo chose to keep their name anonymous but assured us that this person has never been wrong about leaks in the past. Right now, we have no way of confirming the accuracy of it ourselves. But if it’s true, I’m sure we’ll see something about Spyro during Nintendo’s E3 Direct in just a few days.
What do you guys think? Could you see either of these things happening? Do you expect to see Spyro on Switch later this year? Let us know in the comments below!
