Ubisoft’s E3 conference dropped some big news for Brawlhalla fans. Characters from Cartoon Network’s hit series Adventure Time are joining the cast during a special limited time crossover event. Finn the Human, Jake the Dog, and Princess Bubblegum will be hitting consoles starting…right now.
Finn, Jake, and Princess Bubblegum will all be playable fighters in Brawlhalla during the special event. Each new fighter is a new, alternate costume of an existing fighter, but with special things like new sound effects and signature moves to make them unique. This is not dissimilar to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Echo Fighter concept. Finn is based on Jhala, Jake is based on Kor, and Princess Bubblegum is based on Lord Vraxx.
In addition to the three playable characters, several other Adventure Time characters like Lady Rainicorn and Lumpy Space Princess will make cameos through KO animations. Jake and Finn’s treehouse will also be permanently added as a stage.
The event also adds a special Buddy Mode that allows players to control two characters at once. The accompanying trailer showed off a bit of Buddy Mode, and the gameplay looks marvelously chaotic. Buddy Mode will be available after the Adventure Time event ends as a special custom match type.

For those unfamiliar, Brawlhalla is a platform fighting game by Ubisoft that’s often compared to the Super Smash Bros. series. Rayman was added to the game not too long ago, which was both great news for Rayman fans and also sad news since it probably meant he won’t be added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Adventure Time is a Cartoon Network show that finished an impressive eight-year run last September and spawned several video games.
The special Adventure Time crossover event will end on June 25. After the event ends, the Adventure Time content will be available in the in-game store.
Fledgling Young Adult author and rabid Princess Peach fanboy. My favorite Nintendo games are Pokémon, Super Smash Bros, and Fire Emblem. I claim to be good at first-person shooters, but that’s a dirty lie.
