Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Dragon Quest Hero draws near

During the E3 Nintendo Direct presentation that took place earlier today, Nintendo revealed a new DLC character coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Well, to be more accurate, the company announced a set of characters. “The Hero,” from Dragon Quest, is actually four characters in one. From the trailer, it seemed like the characters could be swapped out and used together, almost like the Ice Climbers. They may also be a set of alternate skins or even Echo Fighters.

From the trailer, it also looks like the character will have RPG-based prompts for the player to use during battle. “The Hero” will launch later this summer.

This new Smash Bros. character is part of Nintendo’s collaboration with Square Enix with the release of the next Dragon Quest game. Dragon Quest XI S will be launching this fall for the Switch. This release of DQXI will pack in new features not present in the previous releases.

We will keep you updated as new details are revealed on Smash Ultimate‘s DLC.
