Square Enix announced that the action-packed RPG Trials of Mana, formerly known as Seiken Densetsu 3, is coming to Nintendo Switch during the E3 2019 Direct. Trials of Mana will release worldwide in early 2020.
The Direct showed off a bit of gameplay, although little was displayed about the game’s plot or specific features. However, the game does feature a plethora of characters for players to play as. Characters can attack with melee weapons, or they can use up MP in order to dish out powerful special attacks. The game also features mob fights and boss battles characteristic of other JRPGs.
Viewers received a brief glimpse of some of the locations in Trials of Mana during the E3 Direct. These include Molebear Moors; Valsena, Kingdom of the Plains; Frostbite Fields; and Rabite Forest. The name of the location, as well as a portion of the game map, will appear in the top right corner of the screen in-game.
Square Enix also announced Collection of Mana at the E3 2019 Nintendo Direct. This collection will bring the first three games in the Mana series to the Nintendo eShop. As a result, we’ll get to play Final Fantasy Adventure, Secret of Mana, and the original Trials of Mana (a.k.a. Seiken Densetsu 3) on our Nintendo Switch consoles. In Trials‘ case, this will be the first time that game is playable outside of Japan. Collection of Mana will become available for digital purchase on the Switch later today.
