Grezzo is the developer of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening remake on Nintendo Switch

The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma has gone on record that game developer Grezzo is behind the Switch remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.

Grezzo has actually been involved in the development of numerous Zelda titles now. They handled the remastered 3DS ports, Ocarina of Time 3D and Majora’s Mask 3D. They also developed The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition for DSiWare, and they even developed 3DS’s Tri Force Heroes.

So basically, Grezzo has a lot of experience working with our dude Link, and it seems like Link’s Awakening is in good hands. The art style is already crazy beautiful, almost as lifelike as the actual dioramas that Nintendo has built for the game. And really, it’s hard to screw up gameplay as super tight and thoughtful as Link’s Awakening had way back in 1993.

We played this one at E3, and overall, we were quite enamored. When people asked me what I was most impressed with at the show, I always felt guilty answering with Link’s Awakening, because it was such an easy answer to give. But… look, it’s just really pretty, you guys.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening releases on Sept. 20, 2019. We wait with bated breath to see if Grezzo might tackle A Link to the Past next.
