Twitter mentions

Wow, it’s been a whole week since E3 2019’s show floor opened! In addition, Nintendo’s E3 Direct aired exactly seven days ago. Emotions ran high, tears were shed, and faces were rocked. In fact, Nintendo did so well that they were on the top of many a list of Twitter mentions.

Twitter mentions = Being super popular

Here is a breakdown of how well Nintendo did on Twitter during E3 2019:

Biggest Press Events:

  1. Nintendo
  2. Microsoft
  3. Square Enix

Biggest Publishers:

  1. Nintendo
  2. Xbox
  3. PlayStation
  4. Square Enix
  5. Bethesda

Biggest Games:

  1. Final Fantasy 7 Remake
  2. Cyberpunk 2077
  3. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2
  4. Animal Crossing: New Horizons
  5. The Avengers

It’s easy to see why Nintendo is at the top of the first two lists. The Direct had a lot of cool announcements, ranging from No More Heroes III, Breath of the Wild 2, and Banjo-Kazooie in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The game reveals plus rapid-fire press events are key to success during E3, which is why Nintendo and Microsoft did so well on social media.

Sadly, Nintendo was no match for the reveal of Tifa and a release date for FFVII Remake. The power of Keanu for Cyberpunk 2077 was also too much for the Big N to bear. Still, having Breath of the Wild 2 at number three is a huge accomplishment, especially for a game we know so little about.
