Super Mario Maker 2 Make it your way, Play it your way

Switch owners are just one week away from playing one of the most exciting games of the year. Players loved the original Super Mario Maker, but you can only sell so many copies on the struggling Wii U. Fortunately, Nintendo’s packing lots of extra content into that experience and releasing a sequel on Switch. Super Mario Maker 2 adds new game styles, new level types, new items, and much more. And, of course, you’ll have the ability to play it on the go in handheld mode. This concept is emphasized in the latest trailer, titled Make it your way, Play it your way. You can check it out below!

Make it your way, Play it your way

This is a pretty solid marketing strategy from Nintendo, at least in my opinion. The trailer highlights a wide variety of Nintendo fans of all different ages and backgrounds. I just got back from an E3 week that was overflowing with shooter after shooter. And there’s nothing wrong with that per se, but it’s great to have a reminder that games can be so vastly different from that extreme too. There’s just something so wholesome about getting together with friends to dream up Mario levels, design them, and share them around.

The trailer also focuses quite a bit on younger players. Many already tend to think of Nintendo as making games for “kids,” but Switch actually has mostly adult players. Conveying how user-friendly and kid-friendly Super Mario Maker 2 is makes a lot of sense. Whether you’re a kid or a kid at heart, it should be a blast, so make it your way, play it your way!
