The Messenger: Picnic Panic

The Messenger: Picnic Panic, a free expansion for the acclaimed ninja adventure, is available now on Switch and other platforms. The press release, pasted directly below the DLC’s launch trailer, goes into detail on the DLC’s contents and how to unlock the new levels. We absolutely loved The Messenger upon its release, where our own Brett Medlock described it as “one of the most joyful, rewarding, and memorable gaming experiences” before rewarding it with a 10/10 score–only the fourth game to ever receive such a score from NintendoEnthusiast.

QUEBEC CITY, JULY 11TH, 2019 – Sabotage Studio and Devolver Digital released today Picnic Panic, the FREE sun-soaked expansion to the critically acclaimed retro platformer The Messenger, on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC. The Messenger was also added to the Xbox Game Pass for PC library, and is up to 33% off on all platforms so give into our pier-pressure and SEAS THE GAME!

Not only are the beloved characters from the original game tagging along on your trip to Voodkin Island, but you’ll be able to explore three refreshingly new levels – each culminating in unique and inventive boss fights. As they say, keep your friends close, and your anemones closer.

If that’s not enough to entice you into our tropical getaway, Rainbowdragoneyes has provided 13 brand new tracks for your Voodkin Vacation playlist.

This new tentacle spectacle becomes accessible by visiting the shopkeeper after seeing credits roll or after “unlocking“ the map for NG+ players.
