Like its Wii U predecessor, Super Mario Maker 2 gives fans the power to create the Mario levels of their dreams. With players given access to a wider Mario toolbox, this led to more varied stages than before. While these range from good fun to outright nightmarish, some experiments lead to a wider variety of glitches being discovered.
Proceed with caution
For one, the Warp Pipe glitch would keep players trapped in a Pipe in the Super Mario 3D World style. Next, there are a ton of returning glitches and tech from the original Super Mario Maker. In today’s case, YouTuber Black60Dragon compiled a handful of new glitches unique to the sequel. See the new Super Mario Maker 2 glitches in action below!
Among the glitches shown off here, I can definitely see some Kaizo-level applications to a few of these. For example, the Shell Slope Clip, Dry Bones Thwomp, and Spike Wall Kick look like they all require precise maneuvering where one wrong move would spell doom. Walking on Lava seems like more of a novelty in comparison; if you lose track of the invisible platform though, that’s a lethal lava bath Mario won’t walk away from. To me, it feels like only the most masochistic of Mario Maker players would go after these, let alone the most sadistic creators finding pleasure in creating such dastardly stages.
Of course, not all exploits lead to misery. The Sliding Bowser was quick and silly enough to put a wide grin on my face, and the fact that the Flying Cat is a glitch exclusive to Luigi is oh so very Luigi.
