The Nintendo UK Twitter account has revealed the Luigi’s Mansion 3 release date to be October 31, 2019. While I was hopeful for something earlier in the month, like the October 4 release date that was seemingly leaked by Amazon, Halloween might just make too much sense. The announcement tweet is viewable below.

Nintendo has a fairly crowded release schedule for the latter half of the year. Aside from being extremely tonally appropriate, setting the Luigi’s Mansion 3 release date on Halloween gives the game some breathing room, placing it nicely in between The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening’s late September release and Pokemon Sword and Shield in November.
Now that we have the Luigi’s Mansion 3 release date, we know that the game is only 106 days away. I am a little excited, can you tell? Aside from being one of my favorite series, the game blew us away at E3 2019. Luigi’s Mansion 3 will bring back staples from the original such as portrait ghosts, and the hotel setting should allow for a balance between the first game’s creepy, connected setting and the sequel’s condensed missions. Also, I just cannot wait to figure out what exactly is going on with Gooigi and his coffee-flavored shroud of mystery.
