Southwest Airlines gives free Nintendo Switch, Super Mario Maker 2

Nintendo will be at San Diego Comic-Con, and as we’ve covered, Southwest Airlines will be at the Nintendo Gaming Lounge with a Super Mario Maker 2 contest that attendees can enter. Winners can win a Nintendo Switch + Super Mario Maker 2 bundle. However, not everybody lives in San Diego. Most people have to fly there if they want to go. Say, wouldn’t it be grand if a whole flight of people could just receive a Nintendo Switch bundle for free? Out of nowhere? Welllllll, that happened!

Southwest Airlines surprised the heck out of a flight headed to San Diego, as Twitter user @LaurMoor shares below.

Let’s stop and reflect on this for a moment. Airports aren’t typically a person’s favorite place in the world. Usually, the only surprises at airports are bad ones: delays, cancellations, etc. But you show up, see a person wearing a Super Mario Maker hat, and then get on the plane to discover you’re getting a free Switch and video game? This is pretty much the best case scenario, on a level we didn’t know existed.

If Southwest Airlines wasn’t your favorite way to fly before, it might be now. It sure as heck is for the people who were on that flight, I’m certain.
