Yo-kai Watch

After being rumored earlier this month, Level-5 has officially confirmed that the original Yo-kai Watch will launch in Japan on Switch with an HD makeover on October 10th. The game initially released in 2013 on 3DS and has since spawned a successful series that is often compared to Pokemon. The port will cost ¥4980, or about $45 USD. There is no word yet on when or if the game will ever be ported to the west, and based on the past track record for the series, it is a bit of a toss-up. A website for the game is also now accessible. It is in Japanese, but you can find a few screenshots and give a look to some of the game’s tuned-up environments.

It is exciting to see an updated version of the first game, even if it may never release in Europe or the Americas. Heck, we are still waiting for Yo-kai Watch 3, while Japan saw Yo-kai Watch 4, which looks pretty damn good, release last month.

Did you play the original Yo-kai Watch on 3DS? Will you buy this port if it ever does make it out of Japan? Are you too bust waiting for Yo-kai Watch 3 and 4 to care about an HD port of the first game? Let us know in the comments.
