The Nintendo Switch light has officially received approval from the FCC, and just in time too. While Nintendo announced the console earlier this month, at the time it was not yet approved. That’s why in the fine print of the announcement video, this little tidbit was mentioned. It even specified that if the system was denied by the FCC, it would not be able to be sold. That means Nintendo essentially made plans to sell a product before even getting official permission to do so.  Then again, tech companies do this fairly often.

With Nintendo getting the green light from the FCC, it’s no wonder why the system was made available for pre-order just yesterday. Its release date is still scheduled for September 20, 2019.
