Last year saw the release of the delightfully moving platformer Celeste by developer Matt Makes Games. Towards the end of 2018, producer Matt Thorson announced that the indie darling would receive new levels later this year; the free update, dubbed “Chapter 9: Farewell,” will wrap up Madeline’s story with a gruelling 100+ new levels. While they remain mum on a firm release date for the Farewell DLC, Celeste composer Lena Raine opened preorders for the upcoming chapter’s soundtrack!

You can preorder the Celeste: Farewell soundtrack on Bandcamp. Previously, Raine stated that she only planned on writing a small handful of tracks for the DLC. Looks like we’re in for quite a treat soon, as the new Chapter will likely feature up to thirteen tracks altogether. You can preorder it on Bandcamp now for $9USD digitally; it will become available on more storefronts upon its full, simultaneous release with Farewell. Raine also dropped a couple of teasers: the first two tracks “The Empty Space Above” and “Fear of the Unknown.” the latter features otamatone wizard and violinist Mikaela “mklachu,” whose strings bring a real feeling of melancholy and anxiety to the track.

In related news, Matt joked that they initially planned on locking the Celeste: Farewell DLC behind completing the C-Side stages. I’m relieved that’s no longer the case here, as I am a total weenie when it comes to even beating the B-Sides…
