Morpeko Pokémon

If you pay attention to Pokémon news, you should already be aware that the most recent round of news dropped this morning. This news came in the form of the reveal of the antagonistic team and the new Galarian form of Pokémon. At this point, we’ve seen a few of the new Pokémon they’re adding to Pokémon Sword and Shield, so we want to know—which is your favorite?

Going off of today’s news alone, there are some great choices. To start, there’s Galarian Weezing. A counterpart to our staff’s infamous Alolan Grimer, Galarian Weezing is a rather dapper creature, featuring smokestacks as a top hat and smog as facial hair. There’s also the Galarian Zigzagoon line. This line reminds me a lot of the band KISS design-wise, but the coolest part here is that there’s an additional evolution stage tacked on, but only for this regional variant! This is an interesting twist of the idea of regional Pokémon. I’d like to see more of this appear in Sword and Shield.

And of course, who can forget Wooloo? Regardless of whether you prefer Wooloo or its well-known counterpart Mareep, you can’t argue that Wooloo didn’t immediately become an internet favorite. There are a bunch of great choices out there, but if I had to pick my personal favorite, I’d go with the recently-announced Morpeko.

Morpeko speaks to me on a spiritual level, more than any other new Pokémon so far, since its form changes based on hunger. Like me, if you catch Morpeko when it’s full, it’s pretty friendly. But catch us when we’re hangry and watch out! Seriously though, I’m pretty excited for Morpeko and impatiently waiting to learn more about it.

Of all the new Pokémon announced for Pokémon Sword and Shield so far, which is your favorite? Let us know in the comments below!
