Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated

Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated finally has its debut gameplay footage. The video, about five minutes long, primarily shows Spongebob collecting the game’s currency, Shiny Objects,in Jellyfish Fields while dealing with some basic enemies.

Like many, I really loved the original Battle for Bikini Bottom as a kid. I have been excited ever since the remake was initially announced, but seeing the new graphics in action has me even more excited to give the game another go. I am quite hopeful that the title will hold up well, and with the game being priced at a very palatable $30, I am sure many gamers will give in to the nostalgia and give the game a shot.

When Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated launches next year, it will hopefully fulfill a wish long-held by the inner child in a whole lot of us. Aside from being arguably one of the most beloved licensed games of the GameCube era, the original Battle for Bikini Bottom was a surprisingly good 3D platformer on its own merit. Whether or not it holds up is a different question entirely, but with revamped graphics, a new multiplayer mode, and even cut content from the original game, Rehydrated has a great chance to cement Battle for Bikini Bottom as a classic to a whole new generation.
