GRID Autosports from Feral Interactive

Feral Interactive, the team tasked with bringing Codemasters’ GRID Autosport over to Switch, has been drip-feeding some new info about the upcoming port via Twitter. After recently confirming a September release, Feral has also shared a few more tidbits of info about the project.

For starters, there will be two different graphical modes for GRID: performance (which will target 30 FPS) and quality (60 FPS). There are numerous other games on Switch which offer similar functionality, so it’s not out-of-the-ordinary to see that Feral has also chosen to include this. Though, it is mildly surprising that a game originally designed for the PS3 and the Xbox 360 isn’t running on all-cylinders on Switch. Though the game did only run at 30 FPS on last-gen consoles, so this is still an upgrade.

Another bit of info is that the game will only be a digital-only release “for now”. Physical fans might be bummed out, but this could end up following a pattern similar to that of games like Cities: Skylines which launch digitally first and get the retail treatment several months later.

These are all the tidbits I could find at this point. It’s a bit strange there hasn’t been a proper press release with these details, but that may come sooner than later since the game is set to hit the eShop within the next month.
