Last night, another real world event was announced for Pokémon GO, taking place in Taiwan. In conjunction with New Taipei City’s municipal government, the city’s Metropolitan Park will host a Safari Zone for the game later this year. The event kicks off on October 3 and lasts until October 6, from 10am to 5pm each day.

New Taipei Safari Zone will highlight Bug, Grass, and Water-type Pokémon in particular, including the regional exclusive Heracross; the dual-type Bug and Fighting Pokémon is otherwise native to South America, southern Florida, and Texas in the game. The best part? No tickets necessary! Anyone near the Metropolitan Park can take part in Taiwan’s Safari Zone festivities and help themselves to increased spawns of Pokémon like Combee and Scyther.

This October will mark Taiwan’s third Safari Zone, following Chiyai and Tainan in 2018.

In related news, Niantic is hosting another Safari Zone event in Montreal, Canada next month, featuring the Africa-exclusive Tropius. Unfortunately, tickets for that event have already sold out. Niantic also announced a wide range of Ultra Bonuses coming soon to the game, including Unown Eggs, Shiny Mewtwo raids, and Unova Pokémon. With that announcement came the global launch of the Mythical Pokémon Jirachi for all players, via the new “A Thousand-Year Slumber” Special Research quest; accomplishing this mission will net trainers a Jirachi shirt from the in-game Style Shop.
