Xbox Game Pass xCloud Nintendo Switch Xbox One Microsoft

The head of gaming services at Microsoft, Ben Decker, has echoed past sentiments from the company’s leadership that they’d like to see Xbox Game Pass on all platforms. This revives hope that fans will be able to play their favorite Xbox games on the Nintendo Switch. Speaking to Gamereactor, he commented:

“You know, we would like to see Game Pass on all platforms ultimately and I think that is a long term goal. We don’t have any specific plans today, but we would love to see Game Pass really go everywhere.”

Xbox Game Pass on other platforms, particularly the Nintendo Switch, has been a topic of discussion for quite some time. Earlier this year, rumors were swirling that the newfound friendship between Microsoft and Nintendo would result in Microsoft games landing on Nintendo’s platform. A short while later an insider stated that while anything is possible, Xbox Game Pass for Nintendo Switch is not on the horizon, nor are there any plans to bring that to fruition in the near term. Phil Spencer also commented stating that he’d love to see Game Pass on any and all devices even commenting how that broader reach would do wonders for growing Microsoft’s business.

The will is certainly there. Now Microsoft and Nintendo just need to find the way. My guess is that because Microsoft seems to be on board, Nintendo holds the keys to truly making this happen alongside other platforms.

What do you think? Is this just another moment in a long line of pipe dream comments? Or do you think Nintendo and Microsoft can eventually attain the relationship status that will enable this to happen? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
