SNES

One of the benefits of having a Nintendo Switch Online account is being able to play a library of classic NES titles. Despite this benefit, many (including myself) have longed to see Nintendo release a library of games from other platforms as well. Nintendo has apparently been listening, as they just announced that a library of SNES titles will be available for subscribers to play starting tomorrow!

Currently, 20 games are coming to the service, known as Super Nintendo Entertainment System Nintendo Switch Online. This lineup includes hits such as Super Mario Kart, Kirby’s Dream Land 3, and A Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, though more will be added over time. I’m curious to see if these future additions will include special versions of the games, much like Nintendo has done with the NES games. These games will also feature a rewind function, which will be available from launch.

If you’re an active subscriber to Nintendo Switch Online, the SNES library will be available at no extra charge. If you want to have that retro feeling though, an SNES controller will be available for purchase, exclusively for the service’s subscribers. The controller will set you back $29.99, should you be interested.

What SNES game are you most excited to play on Switch?
