Deadly Premonition

When Deadly Premonition Origins got released right after last week’s Nintendo Direct, the hardcore fans of the bizzaro open-world mystery horror game immediately flocked to it. Unfortunately, the port wasn’t without issues. Some major issues have been reported with the audio, including seemingly random missing dialogue and music. Issues with frame rate have also hampered some players’ enjoyment.

This led creator Swery to take to Twitter to personally apologize. Swery conveys that Toybox, the publisher, will announce a patch as soon as possible. While a promise of an announcement isn’t exactly what we wanted, its better than ignoring it altogether.

Deadly Premonition Origins takes place in a scenic mountain town in Washington state. FBI agent Francis York Morgan finds himself wrapped up in an investigation to a series of gruesome murders with a heavy supernatural element. If you’re a fan of Twin Peaks, then you owe it to yourself to check out this curiosity of a game. Trust me — it’s wild. Deadly Premonition first released on the Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2010.

Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise was announced alongside Deadly Premonition Origins and is set to be a Switch exclusive. It would be a shame if the long-time-coming sequel was hindered by the poor performance of this port. I can understand the frustration behind Swery’s tweet. For his sake alone I hope this patch comes out sooner than later.

Have you had any issues with bugs in Deadly Premonition Origins?
